Light pruning can be done anytime but major pruning should be done in late winter - early spring. Plant in an area with plenty of space, it can become aggressive. Avoid allowing it to grow up shingled walls as they can be difficult to remove.

Common Name: Virginia Creeper
Deciduous, woody vine with compound-palmate leaves that emerge purplish in spring and mature to green in summer, purple and crimson fall color. Insignificant greenish-white flowers bloom in late spring to early summer. Flowers give way to blue-black beries, which may not be visible until fall leaf drop. Great as a climber on brick and stone buildings, large trellises and as a groundcover.
