Common Name: Swamp Rose

Upright. deciduous shrub with reddish, prickly stems and pinnately compound, finely-toothed, green leaves. Fragrant, single, pink flowers with yellow center stamens bloom in late spring/early summer. Flowers are followed by small red rose hips. Leaves turn shades of red in fall. Great for wet or poorly-drained soil and bog or water garden edges.
