Shrub or climbing habit often with compound, dark green pointed leaflets and may be thorny or thornless. Flowers come in a wide range of colors and forms from single to double and white, yellow, pink, red and bicolors, fragrant and non-fragrant. Roses bloom from late spring through fall depending on the variety. Foliage can turn bronze, red or purple in fall.
