Aromatic plant widely used in herb gardens and as perennial border. Most common flower color is  purple, but also available in pink and white. Silvery gray narrow foliage.  Flowers are highly perfumed  and often used for drying.  The essential oils are strongest just before the flowers open.

Homeowner Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Must be grown in full sun to be able to produce flowers. Prefers hot, dry areas and will grow best in poorsoil.  Drainage is essential to prevent crown rot.  Low mainenance and has few problems with pests and diseases.  Shearing back the evergreen foliage in early spring will rejuvenate plants and stimulate new growth.
