- Tall flower spikes

Homeowner Growing and Maintenance Tips:
Prefers fertile, organically rich, medium moisture, well drained soil. Grows best in full sun, some afternoon shade is good in hot climates. Plants may require staking and should be planted in sheltered sites. Deadhead when blooms fade to encourage more flowers. Cutting the plant back to basal foliage in summer after first bloom may lead to a second bloom later in the season. Water plants at the base to avoid wetting the foliage and encouraging powdery mildew.
