Prefers average to rich, medium moisture, loamy, well-drained soil and full sun. Tolerates light shade especially in hot summer climates and a wide range of soils. Remove faded flowers to encourage further blooming. Pruning can be done in late winter to early spring or right after flowering if needed. Plants can be aggressive self-seeders and will spread by suckering. Fertilize in early spring with a slow-release fertilizer.

Dense, upright, mounded, deciduous shrub with oval, toothed, green, blue-green or chartreuse leaves. Tiny red, pink or white flowers in flat-topped or rounded clusters bloom from late spring to mid-summer, sparse and intermittent repeat blooming may occur. Great for rock gardens, shrub borders as a specimen or a low hedge.
