Common Name: Elderberry
Deciduous, suckering shrub with pinnately compound, serrated, lance-shaped or oval leaflets. Tiny white flowers in large, flat-topped clusters bloom in late summer. Flowers are followed by clusters of purple-black fruits. Cooked fruit is useful in a variety of culinary applications. Great mass planted, in naturalized areas, as a specimen and in shrub borders.
