Salvias are very drought tolerant, but they bloom better if they receive regular watering. Deadheading perennial salvia encourages longer bloom.Deadhead to lateral buds. If plants get leggy during the season, cut all the way down to the newly developed foliage. Rebloom occurs but often the flowers are fewer and smaller.
