Homeowner Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Prefers rich, fertile, moist, well-drained, loamy soil with organic matter and a neutral to slightly acidic pH. Does best planted in full sun and given supplemental water during dry spells. Pruning can be done in late winter while dormant, removing weak, spindly canes and thinning older, less productive canes. Deadhead spent flowers as needed through the season. Feed in spring and after the first bloom with an organic fertilizer. Mulching is beneficial.
