Deciduous, self-fertile tree with a low canopy and elliptic, finely serrated, green leaves. White, five-petaled flowers bloom in spring. Flowers are followed by small to medium sized, oval, bluish-purple plums. Fruit is juicy with a sweet but slightly tart and astringent flavor. Great for home gardens, as a windbreak or hedge.
