Common Name: Flowering Crabapple
Deciduous shrub or tree with round, spreading crown or vase-shaped habit. Ovate, lobed or serrate leaves first emerge red and tinged with pink and mature to green. Cup-shaped, five-petaled flowers are white, pink or red, single or double and bloom in mid to late spring. Fruit emerges after the flowers and ranges in color from gold to burgundy. Great as a specimen, in small groups and borders.
