Small deciduous tree with a rounded crown and obovate, green leaves. Fragrant, white, pink or lilac, star-like flowers with 10 to 15 petals bloom in early spring. Flowers may be followed by cone-like fruits that ripen to red in late summer. Great as a specimen, in shrub borders and woodland edges.
