Herbaceous, clump-forming perennial. Narrow, lance-shaped, stemless, green leaves, sometimes spotted with maroon. Flowers are in long, open, terminal panicles, opening a few at a time. Generally white or pink flowers bloom late spring to fall. Great in perennial borders and beds.



Homeowner Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Prefers sandy, loamy, well drained soil and full sun. Plant has a taproot and tolerates some drough once established as well as heat and humidity. Deadhead spent flower spikes to extend blooming. Plants may be cut back by 1/3 in spring for size control. The species may self-seed if spent flowers are left on the plant.
