Upright, clump-forming native perennial. Toothed, lance-shaped, green leaves usually in whorls or opposite on the stems. Compound inflorescences of tiny flowers come in a variety of colors, the most common being pink and white. Blooms mid summer to early fall.  Great plant for borders, meadows and native plant gardens.

Homeowner Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Prefers average to fertile soil and consistently moist to wet soil depending on the species. Grows best in full sun but tolerates light afternoon shade especially in hot summer climates. Cut plants back to the ground in winter.
