Homeowner Growing and Maintenance Tips:
Prefers organically rich, fertile, consistently moist, well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. Tolerates a wide range of soil conditions. Prune one-third of the oldest stems in late winter or early spring to promote new, colorful stem growth or cut back the whole plant to short stubs every other year. Mulching is beneficial.
