North American native perennial.  Clusters of delicate, blue star-shaped. Blooms late spring-early summer.  Leaves are typically narrow or willow shaped, creating a feathery texture.  The rich green foliage turns brilliant golden yellow in the fall.  Important nectar source for butterdiles and bees.

Homeowner Growing and Maintenance Tips:

An adaptable plant.  Thrives in full-part sun.  Prefers average, well drained soil.  Fairly drought tolerant once established but performs best in consistent moisture.  Stems can be cut by 1/3 after flowering to maintain a more compact shape.
